A PRESTON woman was killed when she was hit by a heavy goods vehicle at one of the busiest roundabouts in town.
Alison McKean, 24, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Royal Preston Hospital after she was hit by a lorry cab near the Adelphi pub shortly after 3pm on Friday, July 17.
Insp Andy Baxter told the Citizen that Miss McKean, of Lancaster House, Preston, was walking across the road with a friend when the accident happened.
He added: "It would appear that the young lady walked in front of the vehicle.
"We are still investigating the crash and are appealing for witnesses to come forward."
