A CITIZEN appeal helped a team of dedicated volunteers transform a gloomy site into an exciting adventure playground for local toddlers.
Armed with nothing but initiative, the group of Prince's Trust volunteers asked the Citizen to publish a request for materials to help turn the Early Days playgroup, in Moss Side Way, Leyland, into a beautifully-designed facility.
Local businesses and organisations came forward with offers of equipment and, in just two weeks, the group had created a wonderland garden and colourful mural.
Volunteer Jamie Fawcett said: "We've begged and borrowed for this challenge but enjoyed every minute.
"We're very grateful to the Citizen for printing our appeal - it worked wonders!"
