I WAS outraged after reading the childish comments made by Leigh's Cllr Brian Jarvis in last week's Journal (July l6) regarding Mr Chris Maile.
I would have expected a more sophisticated objection from a man of Cllr Jarvis's position. I am a resident of Tyldesley who is opposed to the guided busway, so are the vast majority of my neighbours.
I have attended three consultation meetings and I can say that the public feeling is definitely against the GMPTE proposal for a busway between Leigh and Manchester.
I have also a conducted a petition of hundreds of local people and have only met three who are in favour of the project.
I would say to Cllr Jarvis that it's time he listened to the people that put him in office and represent their feelings instead of voicing his own views.
Yes, it is sad when a so-called outsider such as Mr Maile, has to speak for the poeple of Leigh and its surrounding communities. However, if he didn't represent us then our feelings would go unheard.
