A MORECAMBE mother-of-five who jilted a Morecambe pensioner just two hours after marrying him has been questioned by police.
Karen Hastings, 30, has been interviewed about the validity of the wedding to 82-year-old Ron Stewart.
Mrs Hastings, a law student, walked out on Ron following a wedding breakfast in Morecambe. Sporting a diamond engagement ring and gold wedding ring, she slipped away in a car Ron had bought her and was thought to be in Scotland.
But it has been revealed that Mrs Hastings lives just two streets away from the partially-sighted pensioner, who now wants the wedding annulled on the grounds of non-consummation.
Both rings have been given back to Ron, who says he originally wanted a housekeeper but got married for the hell of it.
