A MORECAMBE woman was left distraught after robbers dragged her into a bush and beat her up for just £1.25. The 41-year-old woman was attacked by two scruffy looking teenagers after getting off a bus near the Morrison's store before walking along the footpath on Kilnbank Avenue. The two men approached her and menacingly demanded money. When she refused, they dragged her into a bush where they forcible rifled through her pockets. They beat her about the head, body and legs and held a sharp instrument against her neck.

When a group of children arrived on the scene, the woman was able to rush off while the attackers were distracted.

After being robbed there was blood on the woman's T-shirt and she was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary. She was treated and later discharged.

The police described the attack as particularly vicious and callous and said the woman had been left "very upset and traumatised."

"This was a nasty attack and the woman had been left very badly shaken by the ordeal," said Det Con Gardener.

"The two men looked in their late teens, smelled of alcohol, and were very scruffy in appearance. Our enquires are ongoing and we'd like to hear from anyone who has any information. They looked as if they were sleeping rough. Maybe someone saw them? If anyone has any details they think might help us then please contact us."

The attack happened on Saturday, July 11, at 7.30pm.

Morecambe CID are desperately trying to find the two teenagers who both smelt of alcohol and looked as if they had slept rough. One is described as a white male in his late teens, around 5ft ins tall of medium build with long, dark, greasy, swept-back hair. He had tattoos of letters on his hands.
