NETHERFIELD 150-5 LEYLAND 106 all out LEYLAND suffered a 44 runs defeat at Fox Lane against Netherfield.

The Cumbrians batted first with Clarke and Tommy Prime adding 51 runs for the first wicket before Prime was caught by Rocca off Steven Pallett for 25.

Clarke departed at 87, caught by Steven Pallett off Andy Arnott for 44.

Simon Dutton and professional Zander De Bruyn added 36 for the third wicket before Dutton was caught by Steven Pallett off Rocca for 22.

De Bruyn was dismissed with the score on 133, caught by Mark Swan off Rocca for 28.

Half the Netherfield side were dismissed for 142 when Simon Little was bowled by Lee Jackson for 3.

One run later Atkins gave Swan his second catch and Rocca his third wicket when he departed for six.

Netherfield's innings closed at 176-6. Leyland had a solid foundation of 28 before Rocca was caught by Dalzell off De Bruyn for 15, but disaster struck at 36 when Leyland professional Neil Rimmer was caught by Little off Wheatman for one.

The third wicket fell at 46 when Lee Heyes was caught by Prime off second change bowler Atkins for three.

Ian McDonnell and Mark Pallett stopped the rot with a 31 runs partnership for the fourth wicket but Leyland then collapsed, losing 4 wickets for 9 runs, before finishing 106 all out.

Wicket-keeper Chris Sim and Lee "Jiggers" Jackson added 15 runs for the ninth wicket before Sim was run out for 10, with the score on 101.

Only 5 more runs were added before the home side were dismissed for 106, as Lee Jackson was bowled by Little for seven.

Leyland ended up all out for 106 with Craig Atkins, the former Northants player, finishing with 4 for 16.
