AN 84-year-old woman woke in the early hours of the morning to find a masked man searching her bedroom.

The incident took place at about 3.45am on Wednesday, July 8, at the woman's home in Chapel Lane, Eccleston.

After being disturbed, the intruder made his escape taking nearly £300 in cash from the victim's handbag.

The burglar is described as white and 5ft 10in to 6ft tall with a slim build. He was wearing black or dark clothing, tracksuit bottoms, gloves and a full face mask.
