GIRLS-ONLY sports sessions hit the mark with local youngsters taking part in a summer holiday leisure scheme.
A leading coach and players visited Pendle Leisure Centre, Colne, for the daily morning sessions in hockey, netball and soccer this week.
Diane Christian, a coach and sports and leisure lecturer at Nelson and Colne College, led the netball, college student and All-England women's goalkeeper Rachel Brown taught soccer and the hockey sessions were taken by Lynne Regan who has represented the North West in the sport.
Organisers said the girls-only sessions, which were staged for the first time during the holiday programme, had been very popular.
