SEVEN women's undying love for Blackburn Rovers has turned them into TV stars overnight.

Season ticket holders Pauline Perkins, Gina Masterson, Christine Barker, Janette Robbins, Janet Finn, Olive Reah and Linda Leaf never miss a Rovers match, home or away.

And despite an age range of 18 to 55, the ups and downs of Rovers' fortunes have made them firm friends.

Bosses at Sky TV spotted their loyalty to Rovers and each other and head-hunted the ladies to star in the latest Sky Sports national advertising campaign.

Pauline, of Pleckgate Road, said: "We all went down to London last year to appear on the show Soccer AM.

"We were the first all-female group to appear on the show and afterwards the Sky bosses rang us up to see if we would do a new advert for them. Of course we were only too pleased to help."

The original advert starring the die-hard Blackburn ladies was supposed to be a mock-up of the TV show "Friends".

But when the TV crew turned up at Ewood Park the heavens opened and the script had to be changed.

Pauline said: "We were filmed wearing our Rovers shirts, sitting in the stands holding up a placard with the Sky TV telephone number on it. "We had an absolutely fantastic day. When we were told to go in the make-up van to have our make-up done we couldn't believe it. We felt like film stars."

The advertising campaign which will be launched on terrestrial television on Monday August 3.

It will also feature a nun from Newcastle, Sheffield Wednesday fans the Right Honourable Roy Hattersley and his dog Buster, and Simply Red pop star Mick Hucknall, a Manchester United fan

Sky TV viewers got a glimpse of the ladies in action on Wednesday night when a clip of them appeared in an on-screen promotion.

Pauline said: "After the Soccer AM programme we used to get recognised all the time. No doubt it will all start again once people see the advert."
