THE MILLTOWN Brothers will have a reunion of sorts with old pal Barney Williams at next weekend's Bands In The Park festival in Burnley.

As Pulse reported last week, Pendle's former pop stars are back with a new line-up and new material as they aim to re-launch their career.

Meanwhile, former Milltowns' keyboard maestro Barney has formed his own band The Rubbish, who sound nothing like their name suggests.

The bands meet at the top the bill of the festival, which takes place on August 2 in Queens Park. The Milltown Brothers will headline with The Rubbish in second spot.

Other acts set to play are The Ducks, Nilstar, Lamuella, Sez and Kate Howden.

The event celebrates the reopening of the park's bandstand, which has not been used for nearly 30 years..

The free festival in Queens Park is not to be confused with the following weekend's Burnley Live Music Festival in Towneley Park, which was set to star top club DJ Tony De Vit before his recent death.

Former EastEnder Michelle Gayle is set to headline that event, with support from East Lancashire bands including Element, Pablo and The Machine Men.
