ROSSENDALE athlete Dave Lewis came out on top in the gruelling Coolmax Tour of Tameside.

The six-stage series covered 52.4 miles within a week with Lewis finishing with the best aggregate time.

The three-times English national cross-country champion finished four minutes ahead of the first of three German runners, Carsten Ender, in a time of 4 hours, 36 mins, 3 secs with Oldham and Royton athlete Dave Rankin in third.
