REGARDING Hurstwood Barn (LET, May 19), look what's happened to St James' spire, despite more than two years of concern and protests from the people of Burnley.
The old market hall, the conservatory in Thompson Park, the Odeon cinema, the shopping centre of yesteryear and other great pieces of local history have all gone.
Let's now look to the future. Let the owner of the Hurstwood Barn get on with her plans and resurrect this decaying piece of important local architecture and provide a much-needed facility for tourism and arts in this otherwise deserted village.
