AN AEROSPACE factory is celebrating winning a share of a £40 million order. Rolls-Royce has won the order for RB211 engines to power up to four new Boeing 757 aircraft for an Israeli airline.
The firm's Barnoldswick site, which employs more than 1,000 people, manufactures wide chord fan blades and bearing housings for the engines.
Delivery of the first two aircraft under the deal is expected to start in the year 2000. Arkia operates flights in Israel and throughout Europe and the new engines will be used on longer routes.
