BLACKBURN with Darwen Council wants your ideas for millennium projects and events in communities across the Borough.

These ideas will then be considered by the Council's Millennium Task Group which is co-ordinating year-long celebrations for everyone.

The ideas should reflect the way you want to see the new era marked in your community with events or perhaps a permanent reminder such as a work of art. The more people who to benefit from or take part in the project, the better.

The council has already pledged £210,000 towards events - equivalent to £1.50 for everyone living in the borough - and is bidding for extra cash from the Millennium Festival funds as well as seeking private sector support for the millennial year. Your ideas should be original, creative and practical, as well as reflecting the new millennium.

They can be based on international, technological themes or the many different cultures we have in Blackburn and Darwen.

They can be environmental schemes, learning schemes or even sporting activities.

Fill in this form with an outline of your ideas and you could help shape the celebrations and win a £100 cash prize.

The winner of the prize will be the person who comes up with the idea that the Millennium Task Group considers the best.
