PLANNING councillors are taking a trip down the valley.
Developers Carrwood Homes want to build 34 houses in Atherton's Valley but the plans brought an outcry from nearly 200 objectors.
Many would prefer to see the 1.46 hectares site, which includes allotments, within a heritage landscaping scheme designated for the other side of Chanters Brook.
Six years ago planning permission was given to build four homes on part of the site.
Now planners will visit the area off Bolton Old Road before deciding the 34 home application.
