TICKETS are going well for Leigh's first big pop festival at Hilton Park.

Thousands of fans from all over the North West are expected to descend on the town over the August Bank Holiday weekend, drawn by a line-up of top stars from the seventies and eighties.

They include on the Sunday Alexander O'Neal and Sonia with support bands Fastbud, Cleveland and Turn It Loose.

Draws on the Monday are Dannii Minogue, The Real Thing and Leo Sayer with back up from Cleveland and To Hell With Burgundy.

Tickets are available by calling the club on 743743.

Sales and marketing manager at the club, Karen Gunn, said: "This is certainly something for the people of Leigh to look forward to. If it is a success we expect it will become an annual event getting bigger and better.

"If it is not such a triumph it will be the last, and that would be sad."
