IN 1997 there were more reported cases in the UK of meningitis and septicaemia than in any other year since the Second World War, with many of these cases receiving extensive media coverage.
During the Bank Holiday weekend of August 29 to 31, Meningitis Munro Madness will be taking place to raise money to help beat this most feared childhood disease.
It will also be a record-breaking attempt to have all 260 Scottish Munros (mountains over 3000 feet) climbed in three days.
We hope to raise £50,000 for the cause. Even if you are not a climber, there are numerous other ways in which you can help out.
