FOLK reached for their umbrellas as the North West waded through the third wettest July this century. Rainfall records were shattered as the summer downpour continued, ruining holidays for thousands of people who decided to stay home. The month's rainfall at Manchester Airport stood at 131.5mm, more than double the July average of 65mm.
