ACCRINGTON Stanley manager Billy Rodaway has snapped up Liverpool-based central midfielder Steve Baines who was formerly with UniBond Premier League rivals Marine FC.

"He is a tough-tackling no-nonsense midfielder who will be an asset to our side," said Rodaway.

Stanley have also agreed to allow the Bolton Wanderers FC Under-19s Academy side to play their 1998-99 season's fixtures at the Crown Ground on Saturday mornings starting in early September with visits from Millwall FC and Crystal Palace FC. "The majority of the games will be played on days when our first team have away fixtures," said Stanley commercial director John De Maine.

"It means season ticket holders will be able to watch a total of 53 league matches - first team, reserves and Bolton's Academy - at the Crown Ground this season.

"Additionally, they'll also receive a free programme at first team games on production of their pass."

This year's Stanley season tickets cost £90 for adults and £50 for senior citizens and juniors.

Great Harwood Town tonight play host to Rossendale United in a pre-season friendly at The Showground (kick-off 7.30pm).

Harwood are also in action on Saturday, when they travel to take on Nelson at Victoria Park (kick-off 3pm).
