RAINFORD CCC had to settle for a draw in a dour game at Tarleton on Saturday.

The home side batted first and crawled to 163-9 in 50 overs against a tight Rainford attack.

Finney took the bowling honours with 4-32 and he was well supported by Schofield, Donnelly and Corden.

Rainford were then left with only 37 overs to reach their target.

And they replied in attacking style with Cook, Calland and Corden keeping the scoreboard ticking over.

But Harrison stole the show as his 84 not out onslaught included eight sixes. But time ran out as Rainford's reply ended on 130-7.

Meanwhile, the second team lost by three wickets at home to high-flying Mawdesley.

Rainford, containing seven players under 18 and four over 40, were led from the front by veteran skipper Williams.

He hit an impressive 48, while young all-rounder Fogarty impressed with a hard-hitting 42. Mills chipped in with 42 as Rainford amassed 180.

The visitors' reply started slowly against Rainford's seam attack.

When they accelerated Ford's three-wicket haul kept Rainford in the hunt.

Fogarty claimed two more wickets, but the visitors scraped home with two overs to spare.
