MP David Trippier launched a charter designed to combat cowboy builders.
The Rossendale and Darwen Tory was spearheading government moves to provide a better deal and more protection for householders. The working party's recommendations included guarantee schemes for work, a wider adoption of codes of practice and "fair deal" contracts between builders and customers.
