PROPERTY agents have been given a guided tour of East Lancashire in a bid to sell the area to the outside world.

Representatives of the leading commercial and industrial firms in Manchester visited some of the area's main sites including Shadsworth Industrial Estate in Blackburn, the Network 65 Business Park in Burnley and Altham Business Park.

The trip was organised by the East Lancashire Promotions Partnership as part of its work to promote the area to potential inward investors.

"I was certainly impressed by the amount of new investment into the region as well as the re-investment by existing companies," said Steve Johnson of agents King Sturge.

"Land prices and rentals are competitive and combined with excellent infrastructure, premises and good motorway access makes East Lancashire a significant region to invest in."

As well as new developments at existing industrial estates and business parks in the area a number of new sites are coming on stream including the Ribble Valley Enterprise Park near Clitheroe and the Trans-International Business Park in Rossendale.
