SCOTT Sellars paved the way for a fine Bolton win - don't back against the Wanderers accompanying Sunderland back to the Premiership come May.

Bolton were in no way flattered by this victory - Port Vale were lucky to escape a real hiding.

Spurred on by the overseas midfield threesome of Per Frandsen, Michael Johansen and Claus Jensen, Bolton enjoyed long spells of dominance.

They spurned several chances after Sellars opener early in the second half before a late penalty from Dean Holdsworth made sure of the points.

Bolton, now fifth and with a game in hand on all the top three, have a genuine chance to win back the top flight place they lost only last Spring.
