I READ Eric Leaver's 'Looking Back' column each week with great interest. In it, he recently mentioned the bazaar mainly Marks and Spencer once had in Blackburn.
However, I can remember one by the name of Cohen's Penny Bazaar at the corner of Fleming Square and Darwen Street.
It was a great treat for my cousin and I to be taken there on Saturday evenings to spend our pennies and quite amazing what we got, too!
I felt quite sad when it closed - in the early Thirties, I think.
