WITH reference to the celebrating of the arrival of the New Year, I must inform people that not everybody is awake at that time.
My mother, who is in her seventies, was shocked at being awakened by what can only be described as small bombs going off and by the rattling of her windows.
I say to the people who do this: by all means, have a good time, but do not impose your celebrating on the elderly and babies at midnight.
This may seem like being killjoys to you, but there are people who do not wish to celebrate the New Years, but are in bed.
Maybe, next year, you could spare a thought for them.
