A HASLINGDEN man cheated death when he was on a Boeing 737 jet which crashed on the M1 only 500 yards short of the runway at East Midlands airport.
Ian Swift, 24, was trapped in the tangled wreckage for three hours with a badly injured leg as rescuers worked through the debris in a search for survivors.
