A GARDEN designed to make newlyweds' big day even more special is one of more than 130 projects in the running for a Lancashire Evening Telegraph Grimewatch award.
The garden at the Register Office in Jubilee Street, Blackburn, was landscaped by Blackburn with Darwen Council. New parking areas have been created and disabled access improved.
It is one of eight schemes entered by the council for the awards, which reward all kinds of green projects.
The others range from improvements at Witton Country Park to a house full of environmentally-friendly features which shows how energy use can be reduced in the home.
Grimewatch is run in conjunction with the Environment Agency, British Aerospace, Tidy Britain Group and Groundwork. Winners announced in March.
