BURNLEY MP Peter Pike and his wife Sheila visited Parkside Methodist Church in the town as part of a tour of his constituency and learned about the work of South West Burnley Community Development Trust.
The MP and his wife have also paid their annual New Year visits to Lancashire County Council-owned homes for the elderly - including soon to be closed Whiteacres.
The residents of men-only Whiteacres have lost their fight to keep the home open and it is scheduled to close in March before the next budget year begins. The couple also toured other Burnley homes Fir Grove, Hameldon House, Lower Ridge, Ebor House and Lanehead House, Padiham's Woodside House and the Temple Street Resource Centre.
