REGARDING your report (LET, January 5) on street closures for redevelopment in the Bastwell area of Blackburn, we in Rockcliffe Street, have had four children knocked down by vehicles in the last two years and the occupants of two crashed vehicles cut from their cars, yet the council still refuses to do any street calming measures.
Bastwell has had more money spent on it than most other areas already. Why should the residents of Rockcliffe Street have to put up with this appalling situation?
JOHN McDERMOTT (Mr), Rockcliffe Street, Blackburn.
