CLOG dancers, young and old, reflected on the past year at their annual presentation evening.
The Ossy Cloggers and Clogology joined forces for the event held at St Mary's Parish Centre, Oswaldtwistle.
Coun Morris Cowell and Coun Tina Roncolli handed over a cheque for £160 to kick off the group's fund-raising appeal which will help bring Russian youngsters to East Lancashire in May and also send a group of dancers to Moscow in June.
The most improved junior of 1998 was Healey Knight and Emma Robinson was the year's most improved senior. The dancer with the best smile was Stacy Curran.
The new William Turton Trophy for effort, in memory of the group's former clog maker who died last year, was Michelle Warden. The Gertrude Howarth Trophy, for a new jig step, went to Catherine Riley and Francesca Sara.
The Alan Whittaker Cup, for any clogger over 16 past and present, was won by Jennifer Westwood. The Clogology Cup went to Susan Biggar, and Catherine Riley scooped the Cliff and Dorothy Westell Cup for being the dancer with the highest marks in 1998.
Other prize winners were: Clare Broadley Trophy, juniors, 1st Christopher Riley, 2nd Francesca Sanna, 3rd Claire Ryan; seniors, 1st, Catherine Riley and Natalie Biggar, 2nd Michelle Warden, 3rd Emma Robinson; Lions Horn Pipe Trophy, juniors, 1st Laura Dady, 2nd Francesca Sanna, 3rd Christopher Riley; seniors, 1st Catherine Riley and Natalie Biggar, 2nd Danielle Holland, 3rd Emma Robinson and Michelle Warden; James Lee Shield (Jig), junior, 1st Francesca Sanna, 2nd Laura Dady, 3rd Claire Ryan; seniors, 1st Catherine Riley, 2nd Natalie Biggar, 3rd Michelle Warden; Doris Hillman Silber Plate (Waltz), junior, Laura Dady, 2nd Francesca Sanna, 3rd Christoper Riley; seniors, Catherine Riley, 2nd Natalie Biggar, 3rd Emma Robinson.
