WHAT on earth is John Blunt doing, talking abut nose rings when a man is homeless? (LET, January 6).
Imagine suggesting the man does not want a job. There are many jobs where a nose ring is perfectly acceptable.
Would you prefer it if Michael Herrington wore a suit and tie to beg in? Would he get more money if he did?
Evidently, Sam Spence (Letters, January 7) would not like that. He seems to think begging is far too well paid already.
Mr Herrington will have to be very careful next week when he goes to his spot to have the 'luxury' of begging - he may find Mr Blunt and Mr Spence sharing his job. Don't spend it all at once boys!
Thank the Lord that young people do not have their attitude towards homeless people.
May I take this opportunity to thank pupils from both Pleckgate High School and St Wilfrids CE High School in Blackburn for their wonderful efforts in raising money for our campaign 'House Our Youth 2000.'
