MANY folk are dissatisfied about the pathetic, dreary programmes churned out on the five main TV channels over the Christmas period.

They were saturated with kiddies' programmes, with intermittent repeats of 'repeat' films, with only brief respite (possibly, via a video recorder) offered from the vintage films that were available at an hour when the cock crows.

Instead of watching TV, kids should be otherwise engaged with the ample diversions of games, computers, their mates, etc.

Evidently, the TV managers are of another world and generation.

The same thing happens throughout the year, every weekend.

For some illogical reason, every Saturday and Sunday morning there is a complete switch to 'flim-flam' programmes and no alternative choice other than programmes for children, sports fans and minority groups or about religions.

Why is the regular Monday to Friday audience snubbed and abandoned? Why are the elderly and housebound not catered for on Saturday and Sunday mornings like the rest of the week?

What do the TV managers think these folk do on these mornings? They also pay for a TV licence.

Perhaps there is a plot to coax folk on to multi-channel TV.
