ROADSIDE protesters today urged long suffering motorists to join their campaign to end months of traffic chaos on the A666 through Darwen.
Councillor Mary Leaver (pictured) and other Darwen Labour Party members handed out more than 1,200 bright orange postcards to frustrated drivers stuck in queues close to Hollins Grove Post Office.
They hope North West Water will take action after being bombarded with the postcards.
The move follows complaints by residents and commuters about delays caused by sewer replacement scheme, which is running over schedule.
The busy main road has dogged by congestion during the last five years.
The misery is set to continue after the end of the North West Water work when developers start work on a surface water culvert at Craven's Brow.
Earcroft councillor Mike Barrett has already sent details of local concern to Darwen MP Janet Anderson.
Nobody from North West Water was available to comment.
