RESIDENTS in Towneley, Burnley, planned a mass protest over controversial plans to turn a former brickworks site into a gipsy camp.
Householders bitterly opposed the plans to build a new £500,000 official site for gipsies and claimed the town's Labour leaders picked the site for political reasons.
