NORTHERN Soul fans should get themselves down to "The Ooze" in Barnoldswick on Friday when DJ Dave Fennell is set to give his classic record collection a spin.

Dave, who runs a bar in Greece for much of the year, is joined by Johnny Pearson from Preston Grasshoppers and local regulars Mike Kemp and Roman. The event begins at 8pm and runs till late at the Ouzledale Foundry Social Club.

Fast superfly licks and a tough horn section are promised when eight-piece band Taxi bring their heavyweight vibes to Blackburn's Jazzy Kex nightclub tonight. The action at the Regent Street venue goes on till 3am and entry is free before 11pm. For details call 01254 693023.
