LESSONS have gone green at Witton Park High School, Blackburn.
Since September, year seven students have been developing environmental awareness through a number of green initiatives.
All pupils were asked to complete a "green home" questionnaire to identify how they could improve their lifestyle to help manage the earth's resources.
And they also took part in a national project looking at habitats for wildlife in urban areas.
In recent years, the school has also improved the area around Selbourne Mews, close to the school, by laying a new footpath. Students are encouraged to keep the area litter-free and be aware of the impact their presence has on local residents.
The school has entered the Lancashire Evening Telegraph's Grimewatch awards, which reward all kinds of green efforts.
Judging takes place next week and winners will be announced in March.
