LORD Clitheroe, one of the most prominent figures in the banking industry, has been appointed to the board of the Clydesdale Bank.
The new post follows a restructuring of the boards for the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, owned by the National Australia Group.
Lord Clitheroe, who lives at Downham Hall, Clitheroe, was appointed chairman of Yorkshire Bank in 1990 after retiring as deputy chief executive of RTZ.
He has served on the board of a number of companies including the First Interstate Bank of California.
He is currently a non-executive director of the Halliburton Company, a major company in oil field services with headquarters in Texas. He will remain as chairman of Yorkshire Bank under the restructuring.
