Police investigating a large increase in the number of burglaries in the Burnley Wood area of Burnley are appealing to people for information.
An anti-burglary campaign in the area was successful in cutting crime but recently burglars have again been busy in the area.
DC Andy Bell said: "There has been a significant increase in burglaries in that area since the beginning of December, many of them carried out in the day-time and evening.
"Some people, for whatever reason, may be afraid to talk to us but I can assure them that any information received will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.''
