THE council knows best, so the saying goes.

Now one of Blackburn and Darwen's special schools has to close - cost-cutting again, like the closure of two old folk's homes.

I have voted Labour for 52 years and had my doubts when Blackburn went unitary, but no more - all has been confirmed with just the two cutbacks I've mentioned.

Come May, my vote, like a lot more, is going elsewhere.

Others should follow suit - to bring about a change in our local sayings.
