THE budding young millionaires of Leeds United had the chance to taste football at the sharp end when they met Rushden and Diamonds in the FA Cup.
And, hopefully, they listened closely when a man like Jim Rodwell was talking.
The Diamonds defender showed he is definitely in the real world, as he expounded on the reasons why he missed out on a lucrative League career. "I didn't really help myself by discovering drink and women. It was like opening Pandora's Box," said Rodwell, who should perhaps have a word with George Best on how to enjoy both!
After losing in front of nearly 40,000 at Leeds in midweek, Diamonds were due to visit Slough in the FA Trophy on Saturday but the match was postponed.
That would have been a major setback to Rodwell, who clearly relishes his visits to Slough's Wexham Park ground.
"It's the kind of place where you can hear a pin drop," he said.
"You can even hear the people eating their crisps!"
Presumably as Gary Lineker hasn't got there first.
