POLICE hunting a raider wanted for a string of armed robberies including one in East Lancashire are set to release new information.
The "gentleman" robber is one of Britain's most wanted criminals and has stolen thousands of pounds after carrying out more than 30 armed raids.
The hunt, called Operation Tornado, is being headed by Staffordshire police.
More than 16 forces including Lancashire are involved in the operation.
Last summer the thief, who wears a distinctive deerstalker hat, struck twice in Colne and Skipton and he is believed to have netted more than £1,000.
Police organised a national television appeal and the Building Societies Association have also offered a £20,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
The raider is in his mid 50s, below average height and usually has a carrier bag with him which he claims contains a gun.
Anyone who can help the police with their inquiries can contact the Staffordshire incident room on 01785 234952.
