WE are very concerned parents with a child at Crosshill Special School, Blackburn, which has done a wonderful job in helping him with his speech.
When he first went there, he could only say two or three words; he could not use sentences or make people understand.
Now in his second term, he is doing so well with his speech and numbers and even with his writing.
If Blackburn with Darwen Council closes Crosshill's primary department, all this time, care and attention will have been a waste of time and money.
The special schools were opened in the first place to help children with learning difficulty, not to be closed down years on.
Should the council close the department and put the children together in one complex, as they are planning to do, they will miss out on opportunity as classes will get bigger and the time spent with them will be less and less.
The one-to-one tuition the children get at present would cease.
Please help to keep Crosshill primary department open for our children now and the children to come in the future. We need this school.
