A THIRD of taxpayers in Lancashire are risking fines by not returning their tax forms.
An estimated 120,000 self-assessment forms in the county are outstanding and people who fail to get them in by the end of the month face fines of £100.
Blackburn-based Diane Eatough, deputy president of the North West Society of Chartered Accountants said the situation was worrying.
"It is foolish to risk handing over more money than is necessary."
Diane, a partner with Blackburn-based PM & M, will become the first woman president of the North West Society of Chartered Accountants in 1999.
