BUSINESS leaders went back to school to learn more about a bid to gain coveted technology college status.

They were told that backing the bid by West Craven High School, Barnoldswick, could lead boost their business by forging closer links and accessing the school's high-tech computer systems.

The school has to show it has strong support of the local business community. It also has to raise £100,000 in private backing.

It held a business breakfast and invited representatives from local and Pendle Council to explain the reasons behind the bid and show how West Craven has already made progress in information technology.

Head Arnold Kuchartschuk said: "It went very well indeed. I've already had a letter of support from one of the firms."
