FOLLOWING my writing (Letters, August 12) about there being a domestic refuse tip on the site proposed for house building at Billington, drilling has taken place at the bottom part and I understand that evidence of a tip has been found.
But having had no report from Ribble Valley Council or anyone else as to the result of these investigations, perhaps the Council could answer these questions:
Was just a part of the site or the whole of it tested?
Will the tip be removed and what are the plans for the future of the site?
Why hasn't the Council kept people in Billington informed of what is going on - after all, we have a right to know?
Is it true that Holden Homes have backed out of the development and, if so, who has taken over and on what terms?
