FORMER Burnley Council leader Kath Reade slammed a critic who accused her of manoeuvring to become chairman of Burnley Health Care Trust.
Non-executive director Coun Reade, who has chaired meetings of the board for the past two months while it has been without a leader, re-affirmed her support for the re-appointment of former incumbent Brian Foster.
And after hearing allegations from critic Harry Horne, speaking as a member of the public at a board meeting, she warned: "You should be very careful when you are alleging anything that is untrue. I am constantly supporting Brian Foster's re-appointment and making no efforts to be made chairman." Mrs Reade went on to say the board was was still awaiting a decision from the Secretary of State for Health on the chairmanship issue.
