A CONCRETE worker who had been running a bar was almost three times the drink-drive limit when stopped by police, a court heard.
Neil Anthony Parker, 43, of Reedyford Road, Nelson, was banned for driving for 18 months, fined £350 and ordered to pay pay £45 costs, after admitting driving with excess alcohol, on January 10.
Frank Smith, defending, said Parker, who worked for Wolfenden Concrete pleaded guilty at the first opportunity and apologised for his behaviour.
As well as working at Wolfenden's, he had been asked to run a bar and had drinks during the day.
He felt perfectly all right but because he was tired, he was far from all right.
He added Parker could work overtime, but that would now be reduced as he would have to use public transport.
