A MAN walked into a newsagent's in Lower Darwen wearing women's tights over his underpants and nothing else on the lower half of his body.
And when Andrew Joseph Mercer was arrested he told police he had a fetish for wearing tights in public, Blackburn magistrates were told. Mercer, 31, of Sandy Lane, Lower Darwen, admitted a breach of the peace and was bound over in £100 to be of good behaviour for 12 months.
Neil Standage, prosecuting, said Marilyn Hussain was in her shop, which is also a post office, when Mercer walked in at 7am wearing women's tights over his underpants and nothing else on the lower half of his body.
Mrs Hussain was upset but said nothing at the time.
After two more incidents and after a customer saw Mercer putting his trousers back on in his car, her husband took the car registration number and Mercer was arrested.
