VISITORS to Lancashire can expect top quality service and accommodation thanks to a series of workshops aimed at improving standards.
The first of the Quality Awareness Days for hoteliers was held at the Old Rosins Inn, Darwen.
It was attended by representatives from Blackburn with Darwen Council, Lancashire County Council and the English Tourist Board.
A new National Accommodation Scheme is being introduced by the English Tourist Board and in Lancashire a new grant system is available to help with fees for joining the scheme.
Chairman of the Lancashire Tourism Partnership Anthony Goldstone said: "We fully appreciate that visitors demand quality and these new standards will provide a Quality Assurance Scheme that is easy to understand and use.
"At these Awareness Days accommodation providers can find out about the importance of quality, how assessments are undertaken, how to improve their rating and obtain marketing and business advice."
The next of these days to be held in the area is on Tuesday February 9 at the Sparrow Hawk Hotel, Burnley.
