A GREEN parakeet which escaped from a house in Holbeck Street, Burnley, was last seen flying over roof tops in Daneshouse.
Firefighters tried to recover the bird after getting a call saying that it was stuck in a television aerial. Firefighter Lee Clough volunteered to attempt the rescue but the bird flew across to the other side of the street.
A second attempt was made but it flew off over the roof tops.
Leading Firefighter Tom Ashworth said: "The owner told us she had bought it for her son after he was hurt in an accident.
"They sold it but the boy missed it and it was only this weekend they bought it back again."
